Wharton Executive MBA Essay Tips 2024

Wharton EMBA Essay Questions & Tips - 2023

Wharton EMBA Essay 1:

What are your career objectives and how will the Wharton MBA Program for Executives contribute to your attainment of this objective? (500 words)

It would be logical to begin this essay with a description of your current functions and position, where and why, in the short term, you want to go from here, what skills and knowledge you will require to get where you want to, and how the Wharton EMBA will facilitate their acquisition. Needless to say, this answer demands a thorough familiarity with the program – its curriculum, as well as its co-curricular offerings.

Normally, this part of your essay will be in far greater depth and detail than the part that will follow it, where you will get down to discussing your long term goals. However, you should show that you are clear about what direction you want your career to take, and about your vision for the future. Which features of the Wharton EMBA will help you prepare yourself to make the larger impact you wish to make?

Before you start thinking some common answers such as top ranked program, global faculty and peers, alumni network, excellent branding and so on, let me tell you that the proper way to search for an answer to this question is to ask yourself why not Duke, Columbia, Kellogg or some of the other renowned EMBA program. These schools might also fit into your common criteria. Hence, search your soul to find Why Wharton EMBA and not any other business school is your best choice.

Show admission committee the power of your in-depth research on the program. Network with current Wharton EMBA student, alumni and the admission team. Attend any web seminars or admission events in your city and try to visit their campus in order to know as much as possible about the program. Show them how the program fits in your career plan and how it’s going to hone you as a business leader.
